The Boathouse<empty>

The Home of Dylan Thomas

Sometimes it is the hardships in life that aspire us to do great things. Such is the case with Dylan Thomas who lived in this ramshackle boathouse when he wrote "Do Not Go Gentle Into The Good Night". He died of acute alcohol poisoning on November 9, 1953. After he was buried his wife Caitlin refused to live in it so Dylan's mother Mrs. Florence Thomas took up residence. It is said that it is actually Florence that haunts the home, not Dylan. It is believed that since she is not able to appear as an appiration she makes ger presence known in other ways. Examples of this include the sound of her chair scraping over the upstairs floor, staff discovering the lights they turned off before leaving are on when they arrive back in the morning as well as paintings being rearranged during the night.

Mediums visiting the house also report that they feel the presence of Florence in the Parlour where she died in the year 1958.
