The Most Haunted
Shrieves House is not only one of the oldest structures
in Stratford, but it is also considered the most
haunted. At the back of the house is the barn which
is now the Fallstaffs Experience Museum. The museum
is very popular and holds ghost tours (see our
Ghost Tours section for details). Many people that
visit the museum feel breathless, like someone
is trying to smother them and it is for this reason
that the home is so popular if looking for ghostly
experiences.
Many ghosts are said to haunt Shrieves
House which include the figure of a man believed to be
William Shrieve for whom the house is named but little
is known. There is also an old lady with a candle that
is often seen on the staircase which is also the spot
where a soldier from the war hung himself and gives off
very negative physic energy.
You will find everything from the smell
of rotting flesh to the experience of being pushed, patted
and stroked by the ghostly beings. Prepare yourself for
shadow figures and an experience you will not soon forget.
