England's Most Haunted House
The Sanford Orcas Manor was built in the 1530's and since
that time only two familes have ever lived within its
walls. The familes were the Knoyles and the Medlycotts.
They say there are 14 ghosts that live on in the Sandord
Orcas Manor.
One of the ghosts is a farmer who hung
himself from a trapdoor inside the manor and has been
seen my many people over the years. There is also a footman
that used to molest the maids that still hangs around
legend has it he has attacked female occupants of the
home.
Other ghosts include a beautiful woman
in a red silk dress, a little girl dressed in black that
is often seen by the stairs, a whicked priest who awakens
guests and gives the impression he is about to smother
them with a black cape. and a sinister ghost who walks
from the gate house to the staff quarters and leaving
the stench of decaying flesh in his wake.
One member of the house joined the navy
and shortly after killed another cadet. They determined
he was insane and sent him back to Sanford Orcas Manor
where he was locked up in a room. He died at the young
age of 27 and he is said to have been buried in a secret
passage located behind the Great Chamber. On quiet nights
if you are very still you may still hear him baning on
the door trying to get out of the room he was locked
in.
