The Bride Sobs Still
In the later half of the 16th century a staunch Catholic family by the name of Southwood owned the home. Their daughter fell in love with the son of the Hoghton family who were Protestants. The young lovers knew their families would never accept them so they devised a plan to meet and elope together. Sadly, Dorthy's brother overheard the lovers and when the young man came to get his beloved, Dorthy's brother Christoper leapt from the shadows and murdered him while his sister watched from the window. At this point, the story has two ending. Some say that she flung herself from the window to her death and others say that her family sent her to a convent where she died shortly after of a broken heart.
Dorothy is the "white lady" that waits at bus stops for a ride, or walks in front of cars and the drivers believe they have run over a real person until they get out and see nothng is there. She also roams the halls of the interier of the house and melts into walls. She can also be heard sobbing outside of the some of the bedroom doors.
