The Maid in Room 1313
Once owned by Henry VIII who took the original home to
build a palace for Queen Ane of Clleeves it was rarely
visited by them. Through the generations the home received
much more attention and it grew into more of a grand palace.
In 1649 Robert Turbridge demolished the palace and built
a modest mansion on the site which burned down in 1794.
It was rebuilt at that time and in 1856 and in 1856 it
became the Oatlands Park Hotel.
Oatlands Park Hotel has "friendly ghosts"
and visitors can see a grey lady who sweeps her dress
across the restaurant floor. If you are interestd in
the most the most haunted area of the hotel, check out
room 1313 that is located on the third floor. You will
notice extreme temperature changes and perhaps you will
feel the presence of the maid who jumped to her death
after am argument with her lover and has stayed on in
Room 1313.
