Owner or Housekeeper
Home of the Lytton family since 1490 it was originally
not the Gothic home with spires, turrets and domes
you see today. These upgrades were made by the
writer Sirt Edward Bullwer-Lytton in the 19th century
who is the man responsible for the well used phrase
"The pen is mightier than the sword". The author
who had a facination for the occult is said to
be one of the ghosts that live on at Knebwroth
House. His study, which remains as he left it in
the 1800's is the place where you are most apt
to run into him.
A phantom lady can be seen walking in
the picture gallery and a young girl with long blonde
hair has been seen in some of the bedrooms.
