The Upper Floors
The Handel House was named after George Frideric
Handel who movied into the new house in the summber
of 1723. In 2001, during renovations to turn the
top floors into a museum it is said that a ghost
decided to make itself known in the room that Handel
died. The trust decided that it would be best to
call in a priest because they were unsure of how
vistors would react.
The scent of perfume and the feeling
of feminine presence has also been observed. People feel
that it is the spirit of one of two opera singers that
often visited Handel. Whether it is Faustina Bordoni
or Francesca Cuzzoni is not known.
The upper apartments next door are used
by the museum and at one time these apartments were the
home to Jimmy Hendrix from 1968-1969. Some people believe
his ghost can be found here and a priest who has visited
believes that it is a restless soul, but not an evil
one.
