The Love Nest

This stately residence was once the love nest of Nell Gwynn and Charles II. In the mid 19th Century it was demolished and rebuilt to its present glory at the request of the 10th Duke of St. Albans.

Nell Gwynn is said to haunt the property although very few people have said they have seen her. There are reports of unexplained footsteps and people in medival clothing that look solid, but then disappear.

There are also reports of children crying, lights going out and various scents throught the building
