What is dowsing and what are dowsing rods?
Dowsing has been used for centuries and was
first used to find water underground. Dowsers would use the
rods
to
point
the
way
to an underground
water source where a well could be dug.
Dowsing was then used to locate the sites
of unmarked graves and from there it branched out to the
paranormal to locate ghosts as it is said that they locate
engery.
People who dowse are called "dowsers" and
what they use are usually two L shaped rods approx 2 feet
long or a Y shaped rod. They can be made from either sticks,
copper wire or even coat hangers. They walk around the area
and concentrate on what they are looking
for. The
rods
then
point
in the
direction of what the dowser is concentrating on. When the
energy source is found, the rods will either point downward
(Y dowsing rod) or criss/cross over each other (L shaped).
